It lends a definitive mould to contemporary horror narratives. Needs some heart to bear the gore involved. A Brechtian sense of alienation would help in carrying oneself through the grisly scenes. A fine fusion of the gothic fiction of yore with the modern day entanglements of family, chiefly "in-laws". A must watch.
