I went into this thinking it was going to be some sort of justification of feminism or a way to discriminate on a person's creativity. But the movie was amazing. Some people poke at it being close to soft core porn, but in all reality I saw the realization of human nature. Nothing short of Alfred Kinsey's work. This movie made me realize people should never judge someone else's happiness. It makes me wonder what other aspects of human nature we are suppressing that could make us so much happier than we are.

The movie may not hold up as well with scenes as compared to today's cinematography, but you have to remember that today's movies were built on movies like Red Dawn (1984). This movie I watched as a kid and it made me feel things, and think back then. That was a good movie back in the 80's. Maybe it was also the atmosphere of the times in the 80's, with the cold war still looming. When I recently re-watched this, the movie felt realistic still. The acting is still watchable. The story makes good points and things I didn't notice as a early teenager, I noticed now that I am an adult. Movies today tend to feel to grandiose, this movie felt subtle but closer to real. It made you think about all you would lose, yet you could still fight.
