Dystopian is certainly the word for it. Imagine all the world's ills concentrated in contemporary Ireland. Slowly emerging like a cancerous growth that eventually consumes all that is hope and love and sanity and truth. Yep, it's not one of those pastel coloured whimsical holiday reads for sure! The author weaves the world around you in prose as beautiful as a silken dew covered web. Efficient use of language with devastating effect. But my god is it depressing! Nothing good happens so don't expect it to!
