This unparalleled piece of art has pushed me to write my very first review. The way this whole movie was orchestrated is indescribable. I am amazed by how nuanced it was and manifested the real-life struggles, adversities, depression, resentment, and detachment with a sweet blend of agony and humor. It was quite meaningful, and heart-warming and couldn’t do more justice to its theme. The fact that this movie is relatable at so many levels makes one fall deeply in love with it.
The couple – Nicole and Charlie – faces issues in their relationship mainly because of their failure to cater to the emotional needs of each other. The movie beautifully portrayed the significance of the psychological compatibility of the people in a relationship and that communication is an indispensable component of intimacy. While both, husband and wife, were obsessed with each other their companionship succumbed to the absence of empathy, inconsideration, and self-centeredness. It was heart-wrenching to see that the ex-partners continued to have feelings for each other and their beautiful relationship collapsed just because they couldn’t manage it proficiently. However, despite the devastating issues the couple went through, it was wholesome that they showed courtesy to each other for the sake of good times and tried to the best of their abilities to not affect their child in their clash – they were good parents indeed.
There’s a lot to learn from this elaborate, magnificent movie about navigating through a relationship and that is kindness, consideration, empathy, and sacrifice. The depth this movie carried and the edification it made possible, in an engaging and entertaining way, makes it a masterpiece.
