The story that is told through each scene is both haunting and liberating, it is absolutely phenomenal. When I was a bit younger my mother sat me down to watch the film wanting to show me my history. Being a bit more knowledgeable now than I was then I can grasp more of the pure torment that black folk had to endure. It’s hard to digest the horror that lays within our past, and the years of this persecution that’s followed us through the centuries. It’s allowed me to appreciate the strength in my ancestry that much more. Overall, amazing!
