This is one of the best novels I have ever read. It is a work of literature which could easily be kept en par with Amitav Ghosh's The Glass Palace or perhaps Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. Dr. Verghese is a master storyteller whose imagination is simply extraordinary. The story is so powerful and poignant.
