As I scroll through all of the reviews here, clearly I'm all alone on this. But here goes... I found the movie to be way too "over the top" and overloaded with cheesy, throwback schmalz. Then there's the not-so-subtle Star Wars plot rip-off with Maverick playing Luke Skywalker trying to destroy the Death Star: "It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home and they're not much bigger than two meters." Hopefully this will be last "Top Gun" movie. Hang it up, Tom.
