Being a huge fan of the orginal series, i was skeptical, especially when i learned Brad Douriff wasn't voicing the maniacal doll, on top of the story being completely discarded..that being said, i enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Mark Hamil plays a big part of that, but, also this film goes in a completely, un-voodoo like direction, and it pays off. Funny, scary, gruesome, everything a horror flick should be. Hope to see a sequel.
