It is in some ways the cinematic equivalent of lord of the flies wherein the dark side of human beings is highlighted; darkness that many allow to manifest anytime their survival is at stake. It also portrays the never ending conflict between those who want to do the right thing and those who can not think beyond themselves. Gross but fascinating!
