Well let's face it, when someone is lucky enough to be in a position to appoint John Hillcoat as director, Nick Cave in control of screen play and music and actors of the calibre of: Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Mia Wasikowska, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce....your going to have something pretty special. But did anyone expect perfection? Well that's what was delivered. When you race with throughbrededs you have a good chance of finishing as a winner. Wow, what a movie.

Grainy, raw, real and simply beautiful. ....if the scene called 'Wherever I Lay' doesn't pull on the heart strings for solders and their families then I don't know what will. The cinematography - 5 stars, acting - 5 stars, costumes - 5 stars, score - 5 stars. One I won't forget for a long time. Loved it.

Just saw it last night. By the time I walked out of the theatre I was speechless. I mean, the filming quality was just nothing short of amazing but there is something more about this film. Its a very memorable experience. I found myself duck when the rounds and explosions went off. So very realistic and so very sad. We owe those brave souls so very much.
