I'm not saying its a bad movie at all. But as a reader you expect a lot from a movie. Maybe this is a mean rating from me, but I clearly understand an eight hundred plus page book could not just be piled up into a couple of hours.
Acting in the movie was almost perfect no doubt about that, however, I felt the characters in the book (The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, Winner of Pulitzer Prize for Fiction 2014) should have been given little more justice, with length of roles in the movie. The cinematography and the visual effects were absolutely flawless, thanks to two time Academy winner Roger Deakins.
Overall, it was a good movie. I always choose books over movies, so maybe I expected a lot from this one too, just like any other book adaptations.
