Rating wise I think it’s actually a Two star movie but I put Three because the actors were great.
Overall, the Movie was not scary in the least. With the only animatronic being scary was the Muffin. Jumpscare wise, a few but None were scary. The theatre I was in was completely packed. I didn’t hear one scream just laughter. The movie in itself is out of whack and it was nowhere near game related. They completely took out the original story that Scott wrote originally for the game only mushing a bunch of characters into one film and calling it a fright and a must see. Only adding a few key quotes from the game at random times and for no reason. Obviously that was expected as it was believed that this is a different world and universe from Scott’s story, but it’s still kind of sad that it’s not lore accurate.
The film felt extremely rushed, and Blumhouse did a horrible job with the film, story wise. The Main actor, Mike was completely ripped off, and was made out to be completely unrelated to Afton and the creation of Five Nights At Freddy’s Pizzeria and instead , a new character, Mike’s Sister was introduced which made no sense as they completely cut out his actual sister (Elizabeth). What’s even worse is that Another recent character that was introduced in the Fnaf games was also put into this film, but was completely cut out of the original storyline, changing everything we know about Fnaf lore. I have no idea why they did this as you might as well scrap most of the lore you currently know of.
Other than the story plot…
Everything else was good, with the animatronics design and the building, you could tell that they put in all their time into making them feel real and alive. Overall,You could tell they tried for the first time round, though I’d say they didn’t try hard enough, especially since Scott himself said the film was made for the fans. What a disappointment..
I hope that they learn from this experience, and when the second movie comes out, if it does, they bring the story back round to its original state that actually brings in the fans and appropriate lore.
They also said this film was full of gore, but you could only see two or so scenes of blood, which only has about three minutes in the film. They should have just rated it a 12+.
(I wouldn’t say, I hated the film, it was good for what it was, however they could of tried harder… another thing is that I loved how they can change the story line but also keep it Fnaf related and the actors in this were phenomenal. Each actor that was chosen was perfect for their lines and role, and I don’t think they could’ve asked anyone else to take their place. It’s unfortunate that Markiplier couldn’t make it into the film since he was in the middle of making his own, but I’m glad Matt Pat made an appearance.)
