Entertaining, if not completely frustrating. As many have said, the plot holes are ridiculous. I don’t know if it’s like the graphic novels, but none of the decisions make any sense. And the twist ending was obvious from way before. It’s sad because the concept is a good one.
***Spoilers ****
Why on earth wouldn’t they just use the music box key on Sam?
Why give the Shadow Key to Ellie to take with her?
Why didn’t they go ask the great great grandpa ghost some info?
Why didn’t they give Duncan back his memories?
Why on earth were the police so willing to believe that Joe committed suicide? Seems the evidence would show otherwise, especially with the voicemail. And didn’t anyone notice his phone was missing???
Once they saw there was a key that could make you change what you look like, why were they not worried about that or thinking about that?? Which brings me to...
As soon as Gabe was immediately okay with magic, it was clear there was something off with him. New kid in town? Please. That “surprise” ending was no surprise.
Also, no one thought it was weird for a cute older lady to be at a teen house party? And Tyler was supposedly wasted when he hooked up with her in the car, but two seconds later he’s agile enough to grab the key and run away?
Ugh. I could go on.
