I've been an anti-war pacifist since i was old enough to think about such things as war. I watched this movie expecting it to be whitewash propaganda excusing American atrocities with rah-rah patriotic glorification of heroic soldiering and very flat characters. Instead, my eyes were opened to how simplistic and judgemental I've been. Heartbreaking and eye-opening. War is still hell on everyone involved, but this is a very honest and penetrating look at how and why that actually is.
