What are the rest of you seeing that I am not? I've seen 3 episodes so far, and they consist of her eating, drinking, smoking, dealing with her pathetic personal life, and she spends maybe 5 minutes on actual police work. This should most definitely NOT be considered a crime drama.
It's really sad if writers think that people who drink, smoke, do drugs, have crummy personal lives are the only characters that are interesting in a drama. To the best of my recollection, in Sharper Objects, Adam Adams personal issues took backseat to the murders she was investigating. In Mare of Easttown, the deaths of the two girls are not in the backseat, but in the trunk. I'm only going to watch until the end to see who the murderer is. Hopefully, that will be revealed in episode 7. Another thing.......no one in this series of likable, except maybe 4 year old Drew.
