If you saw Pan's Labyrinth, then you are prepared for this tale. The reimagining of Alice and Peter Pan as siblings linked by tragedy and the bridge of loss to adulthood or fantasy is ambitious and clever. The actual plot is a bit convoluted, perhaps because the tropes did not have enough time to develop into the iconic character studies we all grew up with. It feels a bit forced. Or too tightly wound for the time alotted in this tale. Nonetheless, a darker fantasy remains in the magical realm. A fever dream of a tale.
