An amazingly powerful movie. The cinematography was stunning manifesting beautiful countryside, pitting that against the conflicted and psychologically tortured characters. Never knowing which turn the script would take was compelling. A profound commentary on sexuality and historic social tolerance pervades. I absolutely loved everything about this movie. Jane Campion’s direction is masterful and consummate.
