As the start of a new generation for Pokemon games, Sword and Shield have made the jump to Nintendo Switch but have lost some things along the way. The game is beautiful, visually stunning and smooth with solid controls and a few improvements to the move animations that make this feel like a good game. It’s not on the level of PS4 or XBox One graphics but it’s a small upgrade from the 3DS. Raid battles can be challenging in the early game if you forget your typings or don’t optimise your team. I tried joining up with other players but it seems the online aspects aren’t fully active yet (day one) As for the gameplay, it’s linear and easy enough to get through without worrying too much. With 400 Pokemon in the game there are plenty to catch. So in short, on day one of this game, I recommend giving it a try
