As someone who had little knowledge of football or the Beckhams I was initially transfixed; but the more it went on, the more disappointed I got. Always the victims - even in the Rebecca Loos affair, which is glossed over to such a degree she isn’t even named, the Beckhams are portrayed as the victims - they are ever long suffering and saintly. This is the perfect documentary approach for the Sussexes. A fairy tale, too good to be believed.
