Great visuals, cinematography, costumes, acting. Great overarching theme; Prometheus , atomic bomb, government bad - all good stuff. But I walked out not really caring about any of the characters, and for such intense subject matter, it wasn’t well translated into the dialogue and char-dev. I felt bored for much of the film, and didn’t really feel like much was at stake beyond the obvious outcome of nuclear bomb research culminating in…well a bomb. We knew the outcome, so it was more about telling the story of the man. In my opinion, the movie failed to do that in any meaningful way and relied too heavily on the overarching theme, telling instead of showing, and generic characters that were driven by the plot instead of the other way around.
