The Infinity Saga was the peak of the MCU. She-Hulk is the newest low in a streak of flops...
I wish they could treat these shows with some respect and a shred of awareness. I know that supporters of the show will simply disregard my comment as an angry neckbeard talking to the wall... they have every right to do so.
(even if I disagree with the incels they will associate me with)
But... I'm not angry. I'm just sad that an industry that struggled to reach notoriety for so long (w/ a marginal group of fans) have basically resorted to making fun of those exact people that stuck with them and made them the global phenomenon they are today.
I grew up with the MCU, not marvel comics. The respect I have for the geniuses behind those initial movies is immense. That being said I thought that respect went both ways. When you play with those feelings ingrained in us from such a young age and disregard us as morally inapt when we disagree with you on the direction you have decided to take... That respect fades
Regarding She-Hulk, the final episode was something else... I understand that the character would break the fourth wall, but that was too much for me. Putting the MCU inside the MCU was one too many layers of meta garbage. Furthermore, the finale essentially makes the rest of the season's growth and details completely irrelevant to the story. You could watch the first and last episode in sequence and from a narrative perspective, you have every plot point necessary for understanding the finale (in other words: the last scene). For example, one could argue that intelligencia only appears later on in the season... IT DOESN'T MATTER... AT ALL. They simply delete most of said narrative and chalk it up to an angry incel in cuffs by the finale. (completely obsolete to the story as a whole). At least they are self-aware to the ignorance and dullness of the plot.
This new direction will leave a bad taste for those who will look back one day on the glory days of the MCU. I for one will try to curate what my kids watch in the MCU (so they can think about it as fondly as I once did). Endgame will be the perfect end to a series that should have ended sooner.
