I loved CQ2 so was excited to play this but to be honest it was very underwhelming. To get the biggest issue out the way, it’s ridiculously short? So much could’ve been added to the game, the pacing and balancing is all over the place so you can essentially just do whatever you like as soon as you get the boat in the first 2 minutes. This can work sometimes , but it felt poorly designed in this instance.
The amount of weapons, armour and magic was disappointing also. Where is the gravity spell? The ultimate staves and swords? I don’t get why so much content was expanded upon from the second game, this feels like a step back.
The dungeons and enemies are boring, in CQ2 the enemies not only get extremely difficult but also visually become more diverse… why was I still fighting the basic rats in the final dungeon in this game?
Overall, I played it and it was fine, on Normal mode I still found it way too easy. I get it, it’s for kids also, but it feels like too many cut corners. Maybe time crunch? The cop out at the end to leave it open for DLC I.e a cash grab instead of releasing a full game and then making a CQ4 doesn’t feeling great. I can’t give it any higher than 3 stars sadly.
