Any intelligent film buff will see, for all it's unacceptable and reprehensible content, this movie's point. By using the found footage vehicle it places any responsibility back on to the viewer and in a satirical fashion points the finger at YOU for its excess. You wanted the best, so you got the best: if you're now sickened then blame yourself for demanding to see it. It may be a 40 year old film but make no mistake the uncut version is something you'll never forget and for most it'll be a film you wished you hadn't watched. Having said that it's technically an amazing movie and you'll wonder just how it was actually filmed. The locations look almost impossible to shoot in and there's a Verite quality that makes you feel you're watching a documentary. I'm not recommending a viewing on any level as for some people it's going to be traumatic. That's not said lightly and if anyone thinks A Serbian Film with all it's perfect lighting and camerawork is disturbing then you haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust.
