As a fan of the Percy Jackson books, this show is exactly like what happens with the Netflix Witcher show, except that Andrzej Sapowski and Lauren Hissrich are now the same person. I swear to god, if Rick Riordan had no input in this show, and they put out the exact same product, this adaptation would have been absolutely torn apart by now. Bad chemistry, poor casting, character assassination, unnecessary story changes, and excessive exposition dumps. I have never seen such a level of tone-deafness toward basic storytelling mistakes and blind worshiping toward an author in my entire life. An author who just so turns out to be the textbook example of the white savior complex. If you cannot lift people up without putting others down, you’re not lifting anybody up at all. You’re just turning minorities into your personal virtue trophies to satisfy your own savior fantasy.
