I think the book is very good apart from the fact that there is an error on page 175 in the chapter entitled Aftermath. The author states the market cross was supposedly moved into the grounds of Bolton School on Chorley Old Road. Bolton School is in fact on Chorley New Road. I trust the other facts given in this account of the massacre of Bolton have been better researched and verified.
