The Business Acumen Handbook took the complexity of a large, evolving organization and helped me to see the corporate landscape through a logical set of lenses. First, I got to assess my own skills with an online survey (it was eye-opening). Then, I was taken on a journey that helped me see how the various pieces of the corporation worked together. The thing that made this book so valuable was how I viewed my role in helping the company achieve its goals by understanding how people work together, how processes impacted how things got done, and even how products are the lifeblood of the company. Lastly, it demystified finance and performance management. I recommend this book for anyone starting out in a corporate business role, or for managers who will benefit from seeing the big picture of business.
