One of those films that make me wonder if this is really the film I recorded, and if so why. I love Israeli directed films, but this one could only be understood by googling it, and trying to make something of what it is about, them saying sagaciously to myself, Ah yes, and pretending to understand it…parts of which I could, parts of which I still pretend I couldn’t. On the whole far better than dimly watching a run of the mill, easy to understand piece of all too familiar nonsense.
I am glad I saw it, grateful for the chance to pretend I could follow at least some of the nuances…but above all admire its originality, photography and acting..and oh yes, seeing a small bit part girl in modern dress, last seen as a Charedi meek and mild wife.
