I am a big Star Wars fan. It is Star Wars written all over. It’s a love/hate relationship.
I liked a lot of the elements but it was all pieced together in a very rushed fashion. At the end I didn’t know what to think.
I called half of the stuff (many clues were there from the trailers, the previous movies, other canonical books, and just some simple reasoning of what would be most fitting). Again, pieced together poorly.
It had a big expectation and tried to please everyone. Unfortunately, that means giving everyone a little bit of what they like but no one goes home satisfied.
If the movie had slowed down, cut out some things, and answered more questions (rather than making you accept it and move on) it would have been better.
I never believed Rey was truly a nobody. It doesn’t fit with the saga for her position.
Lucas said the saga is poetic and that it’s supposed to be repetitive. Earlier things foreshadow future things. So if something appears that seems a lot like a previous matter, know that it was done intentionally.
