Excellent book that highlights the rage and grievance of rural white America. So often we are told we need to work to understand these people and we are misled into believing it’s all about the economy. It’s not! As someone who grew up in one of the whitest, most rural places in the country who then moved around the country to different cities for undergraduate and graduate school, I literally lived this experience for my entire life - traversing between the two worlds. I find all the negative reviews fascinating. A lot of anger when being forced to look in the mirror.
