What a special movie. The editorial is so satisfying in a way movies aren't anymore. All the plot points hit squarely on the spot. The acting is as good as it gets. The dignity and elegance the main actors show is amazing. I don't particularly gravitate to gay stories for the sake of that just being the whole conceit, but in this film, it was told so beautifully in a very unforgiving backdrop. Rooney Mara and Blanchett show why they are two of the best we will ever have. When Carol says My angel, flung out of space, it really feels so romantically right, so loving and sweet.
