I believe that this movie had the potential to be so much better. In the beginning I thought that it was going to be pretty predictable; good looking and shallow girl becomes nice and humbled throughout the movie. The entire time I was waiting for Cameron Diaz’s character to be humbled because she was so hard to stand as all she cared about was money and was clearly an unhappy person. But throughout it I kept waiting for a clear storyline that didn’t exactly happen. I thought there would be a clear point in which would help her to change and become happier, more humbled and a better person overall. Yet throughout the entire movie she was horrible to everyone, especially Amy Squirrel or the man she had blackmailed. Although Amy may have been petty, she didn’t deserve what Cameron’s character did to her. And on top of that, I couldn’t help but figure out what the gym teacher saw in her. Sure she’s beautiful, but that’s about it. And yet he kept chasing after her for what? He could do so much better. Anyway I think if there had been a point in which Cameron’s character would have become a better person, than she would have been much easier to stand. I will say that everyone played a great part and acted well. (The gym teacher was my favorite) I also did laugh out loud at a few parts. And overall it was alright, seeing as I watched the whole thing. It just got me thinking so I decided to write this review. Good job to everyone and the director as well. I don’t write this out of hatred but more so just criticism and my honest opinion. Thank you.
