*Spoilers* As someone who absolutely loves the series, I was able to slightly enjoy some of the themes in the movie. But there are issues with pretty much everything. Put simply, the story line was lacking depth and harmony. By the time the movie was close to being finished I was like 'Oh is that it?' Teen Wolf as a show is very detailed, precise, meaning the audience gets to indulge in the thrill of the story being told to become invested. With the movie, none of that was created. In the show, it shows many scences of the "pack" solving mysteries, having discussions and talking. They were just running around in this movie. Sad really. I said I enjoyed some of the movie, I really only enjoyed watching the flash backs from the series haha, and I will say, Allison coming back and remembering who she was, wasn't so bad for me because she was one of my favourite characters. Elli, Derek's son in my opinion was used to fill the void of Stiles. His wit, come backs was much like Stiles. Even though I didn't mind his character, they definitely needed him to make up for a missing character like Stiles. The acting. Omg. Well, only a few were in character. And besides that it was super corny and fell short of the quality acting in the show. Scott, Sherif Stilinski, Melissa and Deaton were the only characters who weren't cheesy. I mean Allison was okay too, it was bizarre because she couldn't remember anything. So she didn't say much. Fight scenes didn't have the same ferociousness as I did in the show. There wasn't much fighting at all really. In the series there isn't any swearing. To me, it's a jump to all of a sudden have characters like to nogitsune and Argent dropping the F bomb. Weird. The nogitsune wasn't the same as in the show. Didn't look the same or sound the same. There isn't any character development for anyone new on the show. I don't mind for the main characters, because we know them. But for the others, it was like they got the part but didn't get any lines. Hahah strange. Liam didn't talk either. Honestly Liam is a great strong character. They did him dirty. Finally, if your a die hard fan like me. Watch it. Was satisfying that Scott and Allison ended up together, they had the best chemistry on screen in the show.

I'm usually one for fantasy and historical documentaries/docuseries but I loved this. There's a few things I wanted to touch on for people coming here and wondering if they should watch it. Firstly people say in the lower ratings that it was boring and nothing bad came out of any situations or Beth (Anya Taylor Joy) was never in any trouble or danger and to me that's ridiculous. The show wasn't about that. There aren't sex scenes, there aren't any crude and horrendously morbid stories but the story in itself is meant to be that way, gently touching on misfortune. After watching it I felt inspired. What's interesting for me is that people need fear, extreme trauma and extreme struggles to be fully engaged in a story. Drug addiction and alcoholism is bad enough. There were moments when I expected her to be raped or bashed or poisoned but The Queens Gambit was elegant, respectful to its viewers and told a captivating story all a while not exposing us to harmful content to that extreme. Beth did go off the rails at one point, these episodes are well done. There are struggles and they are relateable. I don't believe every show about misfortune needs to be extreme. I myself can even say the same for my own life. I've had a hard childhood however my life since hasn't been as crippling. Life gets better, life isn't always dangerous and it can be simplistic at times. Even for an orphan who came from a dysfunctional childhood. Life can and does get better even for the ones who have suffered immensely. On another note, you could say the writers could have gone deeper into the other characters. But it's a limited series about one person. The focus is on her. If it was a TV show then yes of course. It is what it is, if you can look past needing more toxicity or background (other then Beth herself) from the characters you'll love it. For some it could be boring. But it's a perfect show for a cold Winter's weekend. And you won't have nightmares haha. Don't think to deep into it just enjoy it.

This show isn’t appropriate for children. There’s two characters that bounce off each other Gecko himself and Mr. Weasel. Gecko being overly friendly and Mr. Weasel presenting aggressive and problematic behaviour. That isn’t educational. You don’t know exactly what behaviour your child is absorbing, mostly all of it. We stopped watching because it was just so negative. All of it. Being too nice is a problem and so is being aggressive, there’s no balance. Not to mention references to the LGBTQ movement which SHOULD not be handed to infants and kids on a platter at such a young age. Nothing about this show is provides healthy developmental learning with these bizarre dynamics within it. Choose wisely and find something to watch with healthy characters.
