Simply one of the most consistently high-quality television series I’ve ever seen, period. It’s great beginning-to-end and sticks the landing. Amazing cast, high production values, well-paced, deep, rich world building, tense and exciting action, and fascinating and insightful social commentary that is very relatable to our current world events. Every season offers something new and different, so it never feels like it’s stale or spinning its wheels. It’s alternately heartbreaking, horrifying, humanistic, and can also be very funny at times as well. The most realistic depiction of what space travel and colonization might look like in the future that I’ve seen, with various social factions at war with one another, the oppression of the lower classes, and characters constantly switching allegiances based upon they’re understandable yet morally gray life philosophies and backgrounds. Also, creepy alien stuff! I fell in love with the entire cast of characters, the heroes, the villains, and those in-between. People call this the “Game of Thrones” of sci-fi, but I’d almost call that a disservice, because this series sticks the landing and has a complete series of well-thought-out books to guide it to its thrilling and satisfying conclusion.
