I was absolutely gobsmacked by the play from beginning to end.
Daniel Rigby's performance left me absolutely amazed. If I hadn't seen it myself, I would never thought it possible. A tour de force doesn't begin to come close to what he gave us. From the moment Daniel stepped on stage he hit the ground running and never stopped. How he learnt the script I just can't imagine. So many words spoken at an such an amazing rate was impressive enough but Daniel's movements were both acrobatic and balletic and 'hit the spot' every time. There could be little blank space on the page of the script. How Rigby's voice lasted is extroadinary and to think he does this every night is nothing short of a miracle, he must have cast iron tonsils.
The script has been brought completely up to date and was witty, so well written and so well interpreted by all the actors that it verges on the brilliant.
Its a farce, a drama, a comedy and a kind of poltical comment on the media and police, having everything you could possibly expect from a visit to the theatre.
I can't fault any of the performances by any of the cast, they were all terrific and entered into the spirit of an almost surreal story despite having to compete with Rigby's outstanding performance.
In case you can't see from the above, I loved it!
