Honestly one of my favorite Star Wars books I have read. Possibly my all-time favorite. I so wish Disney would make an alternate EU timeline faithful to the novels. Would love to see this book serialized into 3 seasons, as the book is comprised of three parts. If Disney did this, using the many amazing EU novels such as this one, the Darth Bane trilogy, etc. as source material, then I would certainly be less inclined to loathe Disney's canonical contributions. It is a simple matter of them making fans faithful to the Expanded Universe feel ostracized. James Luceno is a master story teller. This book is a must read for fans of Star Wars. 10/10!
