I used to love this show (I still miss Sydney) but the 7th and 8th season have gotten kind of ridiculous. In the 50s and 60s, no Vicar would be screwing around the way Will is. At least Sydney had the sense to go away from home for most of his picadilloes. Though Will is handsome and likable, his angst is rather juvenile and he doesn't appear to be maturing. At least Sydney had the adult problem of PTSD to deal with. It now seems like they are just rushing to get to the end of the story. They introduce and then just drop characters/story lines. The end of Season 8 was so rushed it came across as stupid. Though the romance might have been great over time, they took almost no time to develop it. The previews for Season 9 don't make me think it is going to be better.
