Better than I expected! I’m no professional movie critic, but I really liked this movie! The Fall Guy is funny, clever, and constantly engaging. There are a few things that don’t make sense, but hey! It’s a movie and it is very entertaining! The “stunt man perspective” of making a movie is fun to watch, even though they obviously overdo it. The chemistry between Gosling and Blunt is a bit weird. They try to make it more funny than a hot relationship, which works, but this is no romance movie. I liked all of the characters. So this is mainly a comedy, and then an action flick. I think it will do better as people watch it. Even the trailers are very funny - and they make a lot more sense AFTER you see the film. There are a few things in the trailers that they cut from the final version of the film that I wish they had left in, but overall… worth your money!

Sorry, but this was a terrible movie. I wonder how many of the reviewers actually saw the whole film. It was loud and flashy with some beautiful actors. I mean Dua Lipa was in it just because she's gorgeous, but there is absolutely no point to her brief role. Samuel L. Jackson tries his best to help and looks like he knows it all sucks. But it was also confusing, preposterous, silly, and eventually boring. I eventually just closed my eyes as they went through another beautifully-choreographed slow-motion slaughter to loud music. I would have left early, but I had to wait to pay for my food (in one of those dine-in theatres), so I stuck it out.

It’s more of a love story than a war movie. Of course, it would be impossible to squeeze the life and accomplishments of Napoleon into a 10-part miniseries, let alone a 2-hr movie, so it’s hard to criticize the movie’s lack of context to Napoleon‘s battles, or any character development of his loyal Marshals. It ain’t “The Notebook”, but see this movie for the love story between Napoleon and Josephine, and not to learn about French or Napoleonic history.

Fun movie, but the not-subtle messaging and many head-scratching things made it seem silly: - Why do the AI dudes have to eat, drink, and sleep? They obviously have no digestive organs because we saw so many get blown up! - How is it that our protagonist can just “turn off” some super-fighter AI guy by flipping some kind of switch at the back of his head as he “sleeps”? No one thought of that design flaw?? - Why are all the villains white and the heroes people of color? All of the heroes and victims are either sad Asians or sad Asian AI bots - our protagonist being the lone exception, and he was black. - All of the “bad” AI people were cops with non human heads - although I kind of dug those running bombs. Those dudes moved with a purpose! - Where are all of the AI “white folk”? - Why are there no black AI bots? - We are supposed to laugh at the Keystone Cop routine when the AI cops get blown up by a dog with a hand grenade, but cry when other AI beings with faces get “blown up”. I was confused about whether we were supposed to care for the AI creatures. Initially they are “just code”, but by the end of the movie they are saying “I love you”, crying, kissing, and doing all sorts of other human-things that are obviously bad for machinery. The whole scene with gigantic machines emblazoned with US ARMY overrunning people and villages while indiscriminately shooting and blowing everything up was comical and over-the-top. The only thing missing was Snidley Whiplash twirling his mustache and tying damsels to the railroad tracks. Somehow, despite being over 400 miles deep into enemy territory, ol Allison Janney managed to “call in the cavalry” and showed up overnight with a bunch of machines each the size of the Superdome. That’s logistics, baby! That should be the real miracle in the movie! Instead, it was a juvenile attempt to portray white Americans as evil evil evil! Where are the rest of the white Europeans? They decided to sit out this existential battle? It was a fun action movie, but the messaging was childish and there are tons of inconsistencies.
