Many people here are rating this one star saying Spielberg copied this from Satyajit Ray's script of the Alien..While that is true..but what these people don't know is Satyajit Ray had abondaned the project of the Alien in Hollywood..and it's script was publicly available in the US...The fact that Satyajit Ray said that he loved E.T just the original story was much simpler..shows he had admiration for Spielberg..And it was Spielberg along with Scorsese who pushed for Satyajit Ray's honorary Oscar .. That was the kind of mutual admiration between both of them .. Without Ray et wouldn't have been possible..and without Spielberg Ray wouldn't have won the Oscar and even Bharat Ratna which was declared by Indian government just a week after the oscar and a month before the death of Satyajit Ray.That is the oscar effect.. Anyway coming to the movie The cinematography is great.. Spielberg is successful in engaging the audience from the very first scene..The movie is quite fast paced which is what makes it great... Overall an entertaining experience with a roller coaster of emotions..I would rate it 9/10
