The strange thing about this movie it’s the ultimate movie of privilege. Because when they finally figure out what’s happening — well we could say the same thing has been done and it’s happened all over Europe during World War II. It happened in Japan during World War II. It’s happened to many Middle Eastern countries during the Wars there. It’s happening in Ukraine now. But yet all these American characters act as if the entire world has ended because now finally, THEIR world is being attacked. So there’s a big reveal at the end, and the characters are standing there horrified and the only thing I could think was yeah, the reason you’re horrified is because something that’s happened all over the world to other people is finally happening to you. Plus the movie ends just when it would have become interesting. Now that we know what’s going on, what happens next?
