Steven Dyer

Just listened to the album for the third time today and unfortunately it has not grown on me yet. Much better than the very disappointing "The Quest" but none of the tracks have that wonderful soundscape melodic quality of their earlier albums. The main instruments are guitar with Steve doing his best to hold a tune throughout the better tracks, like "Mirror to the sky" which is a bit more epic than all the others. On first listen I was waiting for something to blow my socks off like "Awaken" or "Relayer" etc but nothing comes close to previous albums. We need Jon's vocals back and Rick too as the wonderful synth passages are clearly missing from this album. Shame I was so looking forward to hearing this.
