I have watched the News Hour since it was half an Hour. I cannot watch it now, I did not vote for Trump, but your anti Republican bias has cost you any credibility. News is facts, not your repeated opinion that the President is lying. Limiting your sources to the New York Times and the Washington Post (Jeff Bezos, you have got to be kidding) is a reflection of your coastal elitism. What happened to the days that you regularly had a number of newspaper publishers from different geographic areas and different perspectives on? What happened to the days when the Friday political commentators represented different positions, not an echo chamber.
Your belief that journalistic standards and ethics can be suspended by you because these are extraordinary times and you know the truth and have a duty to report it is delusional. No one associated with the Newshour has the qualifications to rewrite journalistic ethics. Often your truth is flat out wrong. Your pre election polls were wrong, your reporting that Russia, was going to flood the electorate with lies, that right wing militia were going to intimidate voters from going to the polls, and then going to engage in widespread violence if the election didn't go their way was wrong. These were all a reflection of your bias and racism. If you want to editorialize and not report you can set aside a segment of the show to do that. The CBS News with Walter Cronkite did that.
You have consistently failed to report the News. This was an extraordinary election, with unprecedented amounts of mailed ballots. What intelligent people want to know is were the ballots handled in a manner consistent with industry and academic standards? As to signature comparisons, as to handling of ballots without postmarks, as to the computers used to compare signature by computer programs. Most important were the number of rejected ballots consistent with industry and academic expectations. I have heard that anywhere from 1% to 10% of mail in ballots would normally be rejected, but in Georgia that number was .0003%, if that is true that would be indicative of a problem. This kind of reporting takes effort, not the continued mantra about the bad lying Republicans.
Your failures are not unique to you, but in your case you are using taxpayer dollars to fund this as well as air time to solicit funds. Alcindor, Nawaz, Bragham and unfortunately Woodruff must go. Until then this funding should be cut off.
