To be honest, Kaapaan is a horrendously scripted film with characters so loosely designed. Character’s motives aren’t clear. For example Arya’s character. His enthronement after his dad’s demise felt so comical even for a movie. The action sequences, the pests attack, the plot to kill the minister all seemed in-cohesive. The worst disappointment in the already badly plotted movie was Harris Jayaraj’s background score. It felt like he recorded the bgm for the movie in half sleep and at certain points the score sounded like that of a 60s movie. The plot is flimsy, the characters poorly designed, hopeless bgm and forced in action sequences results in a bad film. Surya is a capable actor but somehow his choices of films are failing lately.
