CALLING IT A HUMAN HEALING DRAMA IS FAR FETCHED WHEN THEY DIDN'T EVEN ADDRESSED THE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES PROPERLY!!
First, of all the toxic relationship throughout the initial episodes is hard to ignore. Yes, the main leads are eye candy for most of us and the drama has top tier OSTs, good chemistry and aesthetics but it doesn't cover up a lot of the irrational things that happened throughout the drama.
The female lead is made too dramatic to be a children's book writer. She has several mental health issues but surprisingly she recovered overnight when the male lead decided to live in with her and he fell in love. Getting a haircut wasn't a great and convincing personification tbh. No consultation or seeking therapy for someone who is suffering from mental problems for years. How ridiculous!! Where's medication? Why not visiting a psychiatrist? They never made it a point to highlight that she needed to visit a doctor and no having a man in your life can't do that work. She has issues herself but she is the one teaching the patients at the hospital. Exactly why did they thought it's a good idea?
Also, the fact that she dresses like she is about to walk on the ramp of New York fashion week is the most ridiculous of all. Her publishing house went bankrupt, she was living in a rural area, her employees were barely getting salary, eating at subway because there's no food at home. What was even going on? In which world a children's book writer does this sort of nonsense?
A rather foolish and dramatic portrayal of mental health issues I would say and the way they romanticised and painted a rosy picture was a major let down.
Lastly, how come the father was not aware of the sociopath condition of her wife when he was married to that women for so many years? Like he was having zero hint and one fine day she murdered their maid. And when go moon young's father understood that perhaps their daughter have witnessed the death of her mother in his hands why didn't he feel like she should be taken to a child psychologist? This resulted in a mental trauma for her and as we can see initially in the drama she was having several issues but everything miraculously worked out for her in the end even without going to a doctors' chamber.
All these points easily makes this drama a big disappointment and also makes it clear it's a overhyped and an overrated drama.
