I loved Journey to Everland Bay! It was one of those special books that I had to read twice. The first time, I just wanted to know what would happen to Jemma and her grandmother and their beloved Everland Bay. The grandmother-granddaughter is so beautifully developed and heartfelt. Then the second time through, I could read more slowly, savoring all the exquisite details. I took endless delight in the magical world of Everland Bay. There are so many wonderful surprises in this book, which you will have to read to discover, but for someone who loves books, there was one that brought me to tears. Haven't you sometimes felt that a book chose you? At Everland Bay, a sentient book may fly over from its shelf, flutter its pages, and sit on your shoulder. I want that to be real! Thank goodness this is the first book of a series because I am enamored of Everland Bay and can't wait to see what treasures await us next time.
