Finally, a well-researched and well-explained history of the intellectual foundations of the Identity Synthesis, and why it’s such a tempting but ultimately corrosive doctrine. Prof. Mounk gives an even-handed overview of postmodernism, post colonialism, CRT, and intersectionality, and how they melded and transmuted from their original ideas to what we see today. He creates a steel man, not a straw man. And then explains why it’s misguided and will ultimately fail to achieve a more just and equal society. Well-recommended.
