When I first saw this movie as a nine year old i liked just as much as I liked any other Disney princess film.
I haven't seen it in a while, but I've often heard people speaking about this movie, mainly about the lack of showing the effects of racism during the early 20's(?); I just want to mention that due to this being children's film, I feel that there would have been no need to present the harsh realities of racism during that time period.
It's not that teaching children about the history of racism, the effects it had on people during that time period, and how racism affects our society today, isn't important, it's just that a film meant for children that involves peolpe turning into frogs, talking animals, and magic is no the place to do it.
