Marvin Meyer was the best expert on this while he was alive. I spoke with him twice by phone and he was most gracious to me. I tried to tell him that scholars missed the point. Judas -- not Jesus -- is the "man who bears me." But his Presbyter background prevented him from following me. I am a practicing mystic (or 'Gnostic'). I practice every day, and I know what this is all about. The Word is apophasis (not said) and can be heard only within. I wrote two of my own books about this, Misreading Judas and The Bible says Saviors - Obadiah 1:21. We will need more work on this Gospel to fully interpret it, but it is about fictional 'Judas,' as successor James the Just, not Jesus.
