Being in my 10th year of marriage to a Korean from Korea, I found the dialogue kind of ridiculous but somehow strangely believable, like "oh is THAT what the sort of thing my wife wants me to say?" and it's clear that the script was written from the standpoint of what women (especially Korean women) want to hear.
But then slowly it dawned on me it's actually that if you look like Jung Hae-In you can say whatever you want or pick your nose or fart and it wouldn't matter.
Real strength of this show is actually the outsized roles of the side characters, excellent acting and portrayal of the friends and family and coworkers that make the show feel more realistic and interesting.
I can see how it could seem to be plodding, but maybe it seems that way because it's really kind of immersive slice of life thing than it is a show that's meant to be intensely dramatic?
Anyway, not a bad show to spend a few evenings on, one that's not too stressful or intense.
