Ok, the sentiment “he’s not that bad”. Clearly that doesn’t come from anyone who has ever been in a psychologically abusive relationship. The idea that “she’s a grown woman she can just leave” is slightly like comparing someone who has been kidnapped and doesn’t know how to run away even when they are taken out in public. I get it, that’s an extreme example but psychological abuse and narcissist manipulation can do unbelievable damage to one’s mental health and have horrible physical health affects too which can last long after the relationship is over. They didn’t show him assaulting her on purpose bc they were trying to make the point that she is trapped by his manipulation. This type of experience needs to be much more understood.
