Yes there are changes from the original cartoon but you try retelling 23 episodes in to 8 alot of dragging filler removed and a few tweaks to story to help it progress without destroying the main plot points The progression is the key being able to keep it going at a fast enough pace to fit alot into the eps and not miss the heart and point of the story People may criticize changes but it works 100%
